IGP BH/Tracking/Obedience, AKC Obedience
Group
Service Description
This group training is intended for handlers who are interested in IGP BH test, tracking or obedience as well as AKC obedience. The BH test is the first step in the IGP (International Gebrauchshund Prüfung) ladder, which is an international working or practical dog test. The IGP has three most common titles: IGP1, IGP2, and IGP3. All three titles must be preceded by the BH test. If you think you have higher aspirations and your dog likes to work and has a lot of energy, then this type of training might be for you. This is usually geared towards working dog breeds however other breeds are also welcome. In this beginner course we will focus on building your relationship with your dog. This is basic obedience taken to a more advanced and precise level. It covers basic commands such as sit, down, stand, come, front, etc., including competiton style heeling. It also involves training in real life situations in public areas. The goal of this course is to establish a clear communication between the owner and the dog, to learn handling techniques and to increase the dog's motivation to work. Please keep in mind that each dog is unique and learns at its own pace. This group training is intended for a serious, goal oriented handler/dog team. Each session will vary in duration based on your dog's performance. It could last anywhere from 15 minutes and longer. Usually, we'll have 1-2 individual sessions per training day followed by a group session (free). We meet once a week.
